Rodents very rarely make for cute pets. This isn’t to say that hamsters look bad or anything, but when we say rodents, you usually think of rats and mice, which are usually thought of as pests more than anything else.
Chinchillas are a different story though.
Plump, round, and fluffy, chinchillas are absolutely adorable. It certainly doesn’t hurt as well that they have perfectly round butts that make them even cuter!

The specific breed, known as the violet chinchillas, are even more adorable. Not only do they have round butts, but because of the purple hue of their behind, it adds a certain appeal to watching them from the back.
Mind you, the cuteness of violet chinchillas isn’t even the best part.
The best part about violet chinchillas is that they make for excellent pets. They’re pretty low-maintenance and don’t really need a lot of looking after. In fact, they clean themselves up pretty well!
