This Artist Listens To Her Paintings

Regina Antoinette is a Jamaica-born artist who describes her art work as being ‘eclectic’, starting her masterpieces with various mediums such as spray paint or ink before refining with oils. According to the 19-year-old Antoinette, she has been doing art since she was a little girl.

“Art was always my favorite subject in school, from kindergarten to high school,” the artist told Bored Panda. “My teachers would tell you; ‘there’s not a moment Regina isn’t making art’. They’d often find me sketching away in my notebook in the middle of a lesson.”

When creating her masterpieces, the young artist says that she likes listening to her paintings.

“My art shows a piece of the inner workings of my mind,” she added. “Symbols, textures and color that seek to transport the viewer and insight emotional freedom”. I like to listen to my painting and let it tell me what it wants to be – it changes a lot in the process. Often I don’t know what it means until it is finished.”
