This Illustrator is All About Having Fun

It was during her art studies that Boston, MA-based illustrator and designer, Krista Perry, took a very serious oath: to make something fun every day for the rest of her life. And at least judging by her Instagram page, Perry is keeping her promise.

Since graduating in 2015 with a BFA in illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Perry’s been hard at work, collaborating with brands like Big Bud Press, Isenberg Projects, Bright Lite Magazine, Compound Butter Magazine, and Arnold Worldwide.

Inspired by bright colors, nostalgia, vintage ephemera, but also—funnily enough—ham, her creations have a tongue in cheek quality about them that makes them appealing to both children and adults. With flower patterns a recurring theme throughout her work, her illustrations also have this ’60s flower power vibe, which we’re very much digging.

“When I start working on illustration stuff it’s usually pretty easy for me to get lost in it,” Perry admitted in an interview with Red Cap Cards. “I like to pick out a favorite record or find something to listen to like a documentary or podcast to get started.” You’d want to follow her on Instagram.
