You’ll have to take a closer look at Italian artist Linda Di Martino, of Lindadi Creations’, aquarium to believe that all the sea creatures and plants are created from yarn. While many of us are just starting to learn how to crochet, she’s made an entire aquarium full of animals.
Throughout the month of April, Di Martino posted updates on the process of filling her tank on Facebook. But, we’re wondering how she thought about the idea.
Well, it turns out that she happened to have an tank lying around her house after she had fish for 25 years. She told her husband, who has sadly since passed away, that, “when the last fish dies, I will do it all in crochet, I will leave a nice memory of me to the children, not a commitment to stay behind,” Di Martino shared with Bored Panda.
And when the last fish died, she began crocheting for the aquarium, using the leftover yarn she had from previous projects. She started by searching the internet for patterns for sea creatures and plants, and when she couldn’t find a pattern she decided to make her own.
Although many people are interested in buying the aquarium, the artist won’t be selling it anytime soon. But, Di Martino posts videos and patters on her social media sites so you can make your own or you could always by some of her other work on her Facebook shop.
