Check Out This Unbreakable 3D Printed Metal Guitar

Smashing guitars has been a part of many rock concerts for years and it has become a trademark of rock music. Some people saw a challenge in this. Sandvic, a global engineering firm decided to make a guitar that will be impossible to smash by combining innovative techniques and advanced materials.

Henrik Loikkanen, a developer at Sandvic Coromant, and Andy Holt – designer at Drewman Guitars, are the masterminds behind this product, with help from the Sandvic Coromant’s engineers. Using layers of titanium powder and recycled stainless steel, this guitar was entirely 3D printed by using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) 3D printer. The interior surfaces of the neck and the fretboard were hollowed out in order to make the guitar lighter.

In order to test their newest product, the company invited Swedish guitar legend Yngwie Malmsteen to smash this guitar on any possible way.  Malmsteen tried in different ways to smash this guitar after previously playing on it in concert in Miami, but his efforts were worthless. He didn’t manage to smash the guitar even though he throw it up in the air and let it collide on the stage.
