]]>Based in Brooklyn with her husband and two sons, Levine has become a staple in shows like The Today Show, MARTHA, NY1, CBS Morning Show, and The View, where she shares her tips and tricks.
“The world has changed so much since I was in school and the word ‘craft’ was perceived very negatively,” she observed in an interview with David Stark. “The whole design/DIY/craft world has exploded which is great for those of us that like to make stuff and dabble with lots of media and don’t fit neatly into the art school categories.”
Levine knows what she’s talking about. Having studied painting formerly in RISD, she admits she felt a little lost during her school years. It was only after graduating that she switched gears, having landed a job in the Craft Department at Martha Stewart Living. The rest was history.

]]>Inspired by the intricacies of vintage textiles, traditional costuming, and modern art, as well as the natural world, her work is both sophisticated and organic. But what really stands out is her unexpected color combinations, making the overall design pack a punch.
Working between Melbourne and Brooklyn, NY, Moodie divides her time between designing and creating woven wall hangings, developing weaving kits, and teaching sold-out workshops across the world. “Weaving is something that I am passionate about and get great pleasure from, and so I am able to use my expertise in education to share this passion with others,” she shared in an interview with Diary of a Smart Chick. “The love and inspiration and energy that I get from my students is the most important part in moving this craft forward and creating newness.”
Her work has also gained a cult following of sorts, amassing more than 120k followers on Instagram, and featured in publications like New York Magazine, Anthology, and O Magazine. Thankfully, you can also purchase her woven pieces on Etsy. Moodie also offers DIY kits so you can weave a wall hanging yourself (God knows you have the time).

]]>Sewing clothing may seem intimidating, especially when it’s so easy to just go online and buy stuff. But this Youtuber is here to prove to you that sewing is not just easy, but also fun!
Annika Victoria is a 22-year-old Youtuber and student from Sydney, Australia. She loves sewing and DIY in general. She sees sewing as both an eco-friendly way to expand her wardrobe and as a creative outlet. It 2011 she started her blog to teach others about sewing, but soon decided to create video tutorials instead.
Ever since 2014, she’s been sharing sewing tutorials and tips on her YouTube channel. Her aim is to prove that sewing is for everybody, and can be done on any budget. Sometimes she creates new clothes from scratch, but other times she upcycles and mends second-hand or torn clothes, giving new life to outfits that would have otherwise ended up in the trash been.
You don’t have to be a master sewist to follow Annika’s tutorials – and even if you don’t want to create your own clothes, it’s always fun to watch her process!

]]>Building a yurt wasn’t in Zach Both and Nicole Lopez to-do list, but, regardless, they took the chance and they own a yurt now.
They even set up a website called: “Do It Yourself” where they give you detailed instructions on how to build it according to your needs and an Instagram account where they share pictures of their new, beautiful home.
Zach says that it wasn’t an easy process, it took time, effort, and creativity but in the end, it was worth it. He says that setting up the actual yurt wasn’t difficult at all since it’s a tent, but, finding the perfect place and making the furniture for the three rooms not destroying the surroundings was the challenge they took and completed.
Inside they have everything they need – a living room, bedroom, toilet, kitchen, and even a small garden. Follow their social media so you can get inspired to maybe start building your own dream house.

The DIY video has been viewed by more than 1.1 million users and just this week, she shared it on Twitter which she captioned, “when someone calls you trashy, make a dress out of trash bags & prove them fabulously correct.”
