]]>His audience, as it turns out, was much bigger than his small group of friends. Based in Brighton, Edler jokingly refers to himself as a “dirty commercial artist,” with selected clients including The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Guardian, CNN, and Vanity Fair.
“I’m a comedy nerd and grew up loving everything from 50s radio comedy to modern sitcoms,” he relayed, referring to Tony Hancock, Seinfeld, and Alan Partridge as sources of inspiration for his work.
But like most creative vocations, his work requires not only intuition but mainly – practice, as Edler refined his comedic voice “I’m sure everyone is creative in some way,” he notes. “But to make good stuff, you need to spend a lot of time practicing – finding what you’re good and bad at.”
Take a look at some of his good stuff in the gallery below.

I hope to bring some laughter, but not condemn anything people are doing to stay safe. I was just sitting at the house and figured this would be a funny thing to try to do,” Hoffeditz told Bored Panda and added that he never expected such a positive reaction, he even got marriage proposals!
“It’s just really refreshing to see how many people have said that it was, ‘just what they needed’. I know it has brightened my spirits to see how nice people are being to each other too. ]]>Katee Lauchner, Coco’s owner, says that her daughter taught Coco the ‘Paws Up’ trick. The cute Maltese was easy to train and now she simply can’t stop showing what she’s learned.
“My daughter taught her using the back of the couch for support and taking a treat above her head to get her to move upward. Over the years, Coco has turned it into her own thing by standing up and putting her paws up, and now she does it all the time even without us asking,” Katee said in an interview with Bored Panda.
Even if they wanted to stop Coco from doing this, they couldn’t, so they find it pretty hilarious. Coco has a sister called Cici, who is also a Maltese dog, and they’re both registered therapy dogs working at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

]]>Designer Amber Share was surprised to discover that some people actually left snarky and negative reviews online after visiting some of America’s most beloved National Parks. That’s when she came up with the idea to create hilarious travel posters for all 61 National parks, and each poster features some of these cynical comments that she found on the Internet.
“I wanted to draw all 61 parks, but wanted to add a twist to the project that would incorporate hand lettering. I found one star reviews of every park, and every Wednesday I post a new one,” says Shares, adding that she only wants to “put a positive, fun spin on such a negative mindset.”
Her retro-style posters feature some of America’s most beautiful mountains, lakes, and forests matched with funny comments such as “There are bugs and they will bite you on your face,” or “Trees block view and there are too many gray rocks.”

]]>But illustration and drawing are at the core of what she does. “It was always my favorite hobby, ever since I can remember,” she recalled in an interview with Behind Punk. “I used to spend my time drawing alone while other kids were playing and having fun. Yep, natural-born weirdo.”
“The name Wasted Rita came up at a time of my life when I realized all the potential and talent I’ve been wasting ’till then,” she adds. “I was also probably, listening to Black Flag. But, no, it has nothing to do with being drunk all the time, I’m sorry. It’s about commitment, hard work and trying to grow as an artist every day.”
Deciding to take her hobby more seriously, she entered Porto’s School of Fine Arts to study Graphic Design. A self-proclaimed agent provocateur, she adds a healthy dose of skepticism to her work, which makes it all the more relatable. Take a look for yourself.

]]>“Ultimately I want my illustrations to have the same kind of impact that a great Mitch Hedberg one-liner joke has, haha,” he remarked once in an interview with Amadeus Magazine. “Really simple, hits you hard on contact, yet can stick with you for a really long time.”
The end result is often stripped down to the bare essentials: bold color combinations, minimalist shapes, and a message that’s easily discerned. But more often than not, the simpler the message is, the harder it is to arrive at it, and Alcala admits that his creative process requires time and patience.
“It might not look like it because my illustrations tend to be pretty simple, but the most simple drawing could have hundreds of sketches beforehand,” he says. “A lot of it is just boiling down ideas until the drawings are totally efficient.”
With clients like Apple, Nike, and The New Yorker, as well as thousands of followers online, we’re pretty sure his messages come through loud and clear.

]]>Kim and Park use baguettes, crusty rolls, and all sorts of pastries to create these one of a kind shoes. The idea for this project came unexpectedly, during a casual lunch in September.
“We were having lunch one day in September, and Na noticed that one of the free breadsticks that came with our soups resembled a shoe. That was the start,” Park said in an interview with It’s Nice That. The only thing left was to come up with a name for the project – and the choice landed on Panolo Blahnik.
“The name needed to be as ridiculous as the idea, so we just decided to lean into it,“ says Kim.
