]]>“Art is life,” said the Bahamian-Canadian artist in an interview with Jung Katz, adding that both her parents are artists. “Art is my breath, my escape, my happy place,” she gushed. “Art is my own safe haven in a hectic world. It’s where I go to hide from it all, and is also where I go to enjoy it all.”
With artistic talent clearly running through her veins, King never took to formal training but rather taught herself the basics from scratch. “I’m sure you can learn a ton from art school, but it depends on what you want to take from art, and where you want to go with it that should determine whether or not it’s for you,” she explains.
“For me, I couldn’t imagine being ‘taught’ art. It’s one of the only free things in this world and I’ve personally gained so much from having the artistic process be 100% my own journey, untainted from outside influence.”
“Whether I make it big, or die a nobody, I spent my life doing what I loved, and I didn’t need student debt to make that possible,” adds King. But of course, she need not worry about “making it” in the industry. Having won several awards, her work is found in both private and public collections including the MET’s publication collection.
Here are some highlights from her Instagram page.

]]>The post Hyper Realistic Oil Paintings By Young-Sung Kim That Will Make You Question Your Life appeared first on MobiSpirit.
]]>Young-sung Kim is a South Korean artist who questions society and the advanced development of material civilizations through his projects “Nothing. Life. Object.”. Kim has been obsessed with the beauty of living creatures ever since a young age and uses them as a metaphor for people’s life. According to Kim, people use living organisms as decorative elements or food even though we share the same environment and have the same meaning and value of existence. He says that people use them for clear purposes when they have certain reasons and that this reflects to almost every relationship people have – between people, people and organization or people and society.
With his paintings, he also wants to address the problem that humans tend to show their life perfect even though their lives aren’t so different from the animals that try to survive in a small space, exposed in front of everyone.

]]>By “superimposing a layer of chaotic lines on top of another”, Paglia is able to create intricate pieces that look so alive, natural and smooth but communicate powerful intensity. Obviously gifted with a superhuman degree of patience, he applies small strokes overlapping each other until he gets the desired effect, then works hard to make sure everything blends in perfectly. But besides being incredibly aesthetically pleasing, each of his pieces tells an original story, often underlined by a last-minute twist by the artist.

The sculpture looks really neat and has a close resemblance with the image portrayed. From here, you can see other sculpture works carried out by this sculptor.
His creation method is casting as seen in one of his video tutorials. He uses homemade items for casting and teaches others how to do the same. After preparing the cast, he starts to work on the tiny details that make it look even more real. Most of his works are posted on his social media page so you can follow him to get more pictures of his work.

]]>This is the case of Tigran Tsitoghdzyan, a hyperrealism artist, whose works are shown here. Tigran who was born in Yerevan, Armenia started out his painting career at the age of five, and when he was ten years old, he already had 100 artworks ready for his first exhibition.
From his gallery, we can see how beautiful his artworks look. Probably the uniqueness of his works can be traced to the clever merging of the fingers with the faces of the images he’s drawn. This is really amazing, as one can see both the face and the fingers, all merged at one point.

In his words, “the most complex part is not making them look like the person, it’s giving them life” The artist makes them look so real, that even their skins appear almost like real skins. Each sculpture looks so detailed, with the different parts well in place. Even the hairs on their heads, the moustache and beards look almost real.”
Among his works are sculptures of the English Singer, David Bowie, Mexican icon, Frida Kahlo, and even Pope Francis.
