]]>Well, here’s a chance to find out!
Filmmakers Aleia Murawski and Samuel Copeland are the genius brains behind the idea of creating detailed miniature worlds for their pet snails. These snails drive limousines, drink champagne, bathe in jacuzzis and watch funny TV shows.
Murawski said in an interview with It’s Nice That that everything began when Copeland found snails during a visit to his parents in Illinois. They first made a terrarium for them and treated them like pets. This period corresponded with Murawski and Copeland starting to create miniature scenes together, and soon they figured that these scenes are more or less snail-sized. That’s when they realized they could animate these rooms and make them come alive by putting their pet snails in them. And it worked!
If this is at least a little bit intriguing for you, we strongly recommend that you scroll down and check out the supercute human-like snail world these two artists created, and trust us – it will blow your mind!

Though she sometimes uses colored pencils, her color palette is mostly monochrome. She uses highlighting techniques to make her drawings seem tridimensional, and the precision of the details makes them look like a photograph.

]]>The name of the movie is Into the Flame and it was directed by Sean McClintock. It shows Floyd’s dramatic and dark journey in which he tries to escape his fate of becoming a moth and he also confronts his mortality. There is no dialog in the film, so it mostly combines graphic symbolism and animation to create the story that resonates on a deep level of perception.
Though it lasts only 6 minutes, creating this project took two years. Everything about it is strange and unexpected, and the story certainly has some Kafkaesque elements.
Check the pictures below and the film to see the amazing 6 minutes of Floyd’s psychological journey.
Enjoy!

Ching is impressed by the symbiosis found in nature as a natural phenomenon and as a metaphor.

]]>His work is recognizable by geometric structures and multicolored prints. In this article, we want to present you with his recent work in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he painted an abandoned home and named the project “The Rainbow Embassy.” This was organized in collaboration with the curating organization “Just Kids,” whose mission is to revitalize local neighborhoods in Arkansas using public modern art.
Okuda’s work focuses on deep subjects such as false freedom in capitalism, contradictions in existentialism, as well as the duality between modern life and the human roots of existence. He is also very interested in colorful pop art and the rich inner layers of foreign cultures, and he is not afraid to combine all these elements in his work. This is also visible in the astonishing art he created in Arkansas. The house looks incredibly cheerful and it’s almost like it came straight out of Wonderland!

]]>In December, we are all reminded that Christmas is approaching and that another year is about to end, and it’s time for a proper recapitulation.
Bloom is a comics artist whose works are mostly inspired by wintertime and all the silly and unpleasant things girls experience when the temperatures drop. For example, weight gain is definitely not working in their favor, as well as the more regular and more pronounced mood swings.
Her comics also portray the differences between expectations and reality in regard to what December will look like. We expect to be done with all of our obligations and get busy with fun stuff like decorating the Christmas tree, while in reality, we are often stuck writing the last batch of reports for the university or catching up on undone business for the ongoing year.
As 2019 comes close to its end, we suggest getting under that blanket and having a nice laugh with Boom’s original comics!

]]>Munich design house Kurzgesagt created a lovely animated educational video in which they take a deep dive all the way to the bottom of the sea. The narrator, Steve Taylor, explains what nautical species can survive at different ocean levels and how light influences life at the deepest waters on our planet.
These places aren’t just deep, they’re Challenger Deep. Challenger Deep is more than 10 kilometers below the ocean surface. “Taking a swim here is like having to balance 1,800 elephants on top of you,” explains Taylor. But still, little sea cucumbers, as well as pink and white amphipods, live there.
Sadly, although humans don’t go so far and deep, it’s not safe from human influence. At the deepest levels of the sea, you can still find pieces of plastic bags destroying the environment.
