Disney Princesses Presented as Millennials

Daria Artemieva is young illustrator from Kiev who started an experiment of a creative hijacking of Disney princesses and recreating them for her Instagram account. Inspired by the Millenials generation of which she is a part of, the young woman stages these heroines in a daily routine similar to ours.

In Artemieva’s art, we discover Snow White in her studio while taking a selfie, Cinderella having a Netflix-pizza party, Jasmine ready for her yoga class, Pocahontas in the middle of a festival, Sleeping Beauty and Belle in hygge mode, or Ariel sipping a Starbucks coffee.

Somewhere between photo-montage, photography, and collage, Daria’s creations combine classic references from Disney princesses with symbols of our everyday life. It’s a nice way to highlight independent young women in their natural ambiance.

Meet Cinderella! 👠👑 Eng 👇🏻 Не нашла вдохновения на Рапунцель, зато на Золушку-легко!💕 По традиции-интересные факты🤓 💙Почему героиня получила такое имя? Наверное, этот факт о Золушке знают даже маленькие дети – из-за золы. Слуги чистили хозяйские камины, и их одежда была припорошена золой. 💙«Золушка» стала хитом, на полученную прибыль Уолт смог запустить телевизионное производство, основать дистрибьюторскую компанию и начать строительство первого «Диснейленда». 💙Розовое платье, которое Золушка сшила для бала с помощью своих маленьких друзей, было вдохновлено работами Сальвадора Дали. А белоснежное бальное платье — подарок Феи-крестной — очень напоминает стиль великого французского кутюрье Кристиана Диора. 💙Образ Люцифера был вдохновлен домашним питомцем аниматора студии Disney. As a tradition-here are interesting facts about movie🤓 💙Cinderella was given her name because she was always covered in cinders from the fireplace. Her mean family gave her the name. 💙Lucifer is based on an animator’s cat.After searching for a cat that would look mean enough, animator Ward Kimball ended up using his own cat, Feetsy (who had 6 toes), as inspiration for Lucifer. The idea came to him during one of Walt Disney’s visits to his home. 💙The entire film was shot in live action before animators began drawing. Filmmakers used this technique to get a better idea of how they wanted the characters to move around in the environment. 💙The Disney version of Cinderella is based upon the 17th century tale Cendrillon written by Charles Perrault. 💙Walt Disney released the famous animated Cinderella in 1950. Meet Merida!💚 Eng 👇🏻❤️ Продолжим ?😉 Наверное одна из самых сложных принцесс для меня, потому что внешность очень нетипичная, совсем не похожа на других, особенная 💚 И по традиции интересные факты🤓: ☘️Анимационный фильм «Храбрая сердцем» удостоен престижных премий «Оскар» и «Золотой глобус» ☘️Мерида — одиннадцатая официальная Принцесса Disney. Торжественная коронация состоялась в 2013-м году в парке Walt Disney World во Флориде. ☘️Съемочная группа несколько раз приезжала в Шотландию в поисках вдохновения. ☘️Один из аниматоров предположил, что непослушные локоны Мериды закручиваются по тому же принципу, что и телефонный провод-спираль. Meet Tiana!💚 Eng 🇬🇧👇🏻 По традиции – интересные факты🤓 💚Тиана – первая афро-американская принцесса Дисней 🤓 💚Работа над мультфильмом продолжалась три с половиной года (ни одну лягушку за это время не поцеловали). 💚Прообразами очаровательных поклонниц, которые окружают принца Навина в одной из сцен мультфильма, стали сотрудницы компании Walt Disney Animation Studios. 💚Аника Нони Роуз, которая озвучила принцессу Тиану в оригинальной версии фильма, попросила, чтобы героиня была левшой, как и она сама (ямочки на щеках Тиана также получила от актрисы). 💚Анимацией светлячка по имени Рей занимался Майк Суррей — он же анимировал Тимона в фильме «Король Лев». 🇬🇧Interesting facts 🤓 💚Princess Tiana is considered one of the more progressive and “feminist” Disney princesses in later years.
