Nastasya Shuljak is an artist from Moscow who creates these adorable felted wool creatures that will melt your heart. She draws inspiration from nature and makes smiling trees with plants sprouting from them, miniature animals, and many other whimsical creatures.
Foxes, bunnies, and polar bears are just a part of her big collection of toys. Shuljak is a former theater artist and art teacher. As she tells This is Colossal, she started making these creatures when a friend gave her some wool. “I saw children’s sonorous happiness in an adult man holding in his hands what I did,” she says. “Until now, it touches me, causes surprise and peace.”
Shuljak currently works as an independent art teacher in Moscow where she teaches people how to create their own toys. She also sells her creations on social media. Browse her work below.
