The post Check Out These Mouthwatering Glass Desserts By Shayna Leib appeared first on MobiSpirit.
]]>Leib has gained significant attention on social media in recent years thanks to her Pâtisserie series, in which she re-creates some of the most delicious desserts as glass sculptures. Her works are so exceptional that the only way you can be sure they are made out of glass is to believe the artist or touch them.
Lieb’s Pâtisserie series includes two collections of desserts: French and American. In the French collection, she recreated desserts like Creme de Cacao, Entremet la citron vert, and Chocolat noix de coco.
The American collection consists of frozen yogurt, popsicles, pecan pie, caramel apples, and more.
According to Lieb, she began making glass desserts due to her dietary restrictions that prevent her from indulging in most of them.
“This body of work started as a therapeutic exercise in deconstruction and a re-training of the mind to look at dessert as form rather than food,” she explains on her website. “It soon became a technical riddle, and I became a food taxidermist of French pastries.”

]]>Reddit users have been mesmerized by a video of steaming buns fluff up, which was posted on the subreddit r/oddlysatisfying. The 1:24-minute-long clip shows highly realistic steamed bun creations of animals, fruit, and veggies, expanding under heat. This includes crab, durian fruit, fish, cookies, flowers, and even an entire burger.
A lot of Redditors were quite amazed by the video.
“Took me way too long to reread the title and realize these were all buns,” u/eckliptic wrote.
“This absolutely knocked “eat more bread” right off my list of potential resolutions,” u/Emulocks added.
As it turns out, these steam buns are the works of a woman from China named Mima. She started making them during her COVID-19 pandemic and became an expert.
She explains that the process includes mixing dough with fruit and vegetable juice as well as powder made from fruit and veggies. Additionally, Mima also edible pigments or squid ink powder to put the finishing touches on steamed buns.

]]>Kishimoto has been practicing mukimono, the traditional Japanese art of carving decorative shapes images into fruit and vegetables, for years, but he became even more passionate about carving once he discovered the Thai technique of fruit and veggie carving.
“I create beautiful decorative vegetables at work and I studied Thai carving myself. I’m attracted to the beautiful colors of nature,” Takehiro told CNN Travel. He then explained the difference between the Japanese and Thai carving techniques.
“Mukimono is done by using a kitchen knife while Thai carving is created using a sharp thin knife. I exclusively use a Thai carving knife.”
Takehiro introduced his art to the world in 2016, when he opened his Instagram account named Gaku Carving. There you can take a look at all of his stunning creations carved in apples, cucumbers, pumpkins, carrots.
“Even with the same ingredient, each fruit or vegetable has a different shape and softness. It took me five years to overcome and understand the art,” the artist says.

]]>“Whatever I create, whether it’s a carton of French fries, a tin of sardines or a box of frogs I always include lots of warmth and a dash of wit,” writes Jenkins on her website. “Above all, I want my work to make people smile.” A worthy goal, especially in times of crisis.
According to Jenkins, her whimsical is the result of years of experimentation with wool. “I was always looking for different ways to use my love of wool, textile, and color,” she explains. “And that’s how my art was born.” When Jenkins says “always” she isn’t exaggerating. She describes how she could knit and crochet by the age of eight and had spent many happy hours of her childhood totally engrossed in creating things with yarn. “Right from the beginning, I was addicted,” she admits.
“It didn’t take me long to realize that I was much better at interpreting an idea by creating it in 3d using wool rather than through painting or drawing,” she further relayed. This realization led her eventually to the University of Brighton where she graduated with a BA in Fashion and Textiles in 1995.
Fast forward some decades later and Jenkins now showcases her work in exhibitions, on top of creating commissioned pieces for both public and private collections. But you can also enjoy her pieces online, via Instagram.

]]>“I ate animal products for 90 percent of my life, and meat was my favorite thing in the world,” recalled Jose in an interview with Daily Mail Online. “But I was struggling with eating disorders and an unhealthy low-weight.”
“I searched for lots of diets online and then the vegan diet popped up,” he went on to say. “I saw how lots of vegans ate a lot and followed a high-carb diet but still had a perfect fit body, so I started eating less animal products and decided to inform myself about veganism.”
That was when everything changed from him, both mentally and physically. “I was no longer looking to lose more weight, but to stop supporting all forms of animal cruelty,” he says.
But whoever said that veganism has to be tasteless? If there’s one thing that naturally.jo proves is that you don’t have to eat bland food in order to be ethical. Take a look for yourself:

I can be looking at something as simple as a slice of cucumber, my house plants, the latte I’m having, a camera or a person doing gymnastics and think ‘Hey, this could look great made out of paper!’ and so I make it!”
Having studied architecture, she’s influenced by her professional background, as well as her love of nature. “I started working with paper and cardboard back when I was studying architecture,” recalled the Lebanese-Venezuelan artist. “Paper has always been one of my favorite mediums to work with. I find it graceful and endlessly versatile. Paper can be layered, shaped, cut, folded, colored, sculpted, so it’s full of possibilities, the more I experiment with it the more possibilities I see.”
Aside from her food paper art she has also created stop-motion videos and commissioned pieces and sculptures, and has worked with brands like Camper and DOIY. Check out some of her unique designs in the gallery below:
