]]>Berry is a world-renowned artist who creates captivating artworks, ranging from portraits to scenes of everyday urban life, using denim. At first, his works seem like elaborate blue paintings, but once approached closer, their true nature is revealed; every “brushstroke” is actually a piece of denim carefully placed on the surface.
Berry’s venture into making art with denim was influenced by street art he was exposed to in London in the 2000s. He initially started working with jeans as a side gig and got the idea to use the discarded denim to create an art piece after being in the company of artists using unusual materials.
The fascinating thing about Berry’s creations is that they are only made with the use of denim, scissors, and glue. He uses the pieces he has at his disposal and doesn’t incorporate any other material into his creative process, like bleach, paints, or dyes.
After more than 15 years working with denim, Berry became one of the most celebrated textile artists around. His works have been displayed in art galleries, museums, and public spaces across the world while finding their place in several public and private collections.

]]>Relying on the contrast of light and dark to create narratives, Morimoto’s works have an observational feel to them. The subjects featured in them are often shown lost in their thoughts or disconnected from the world that surrounds them. The viewer only has the opportunity to get a good look at them thanks to the lights from vending machines, mobile phones, or neon signs.
When Morimoto shows city streets without people, the previously mentioned sources of light become the main subjects. According to the artist, he feels like they have a “living presence” to them even if there is no one interacting with them.
“They feel to be more than just an object but like a living creature. I enjoy capturing that energy at night,” Morimoto explained in a recent interview.
Morimoto grew up in Osaka, Japan, but moved to Toronto, Canada as a 16-year-old. Initially wanting to become a manga artist, he turned to painting and acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Ontario College of Art & Design. His paintings have been exhibited all over the world and are part of permanent collections of High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia, and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin, Italy.

]]>Ghosn and Crayola teamed up to release bracelets that look exactly like Crayola crayons but won’t break or melt when placed on your wrist. Just like Crayola crayons, these bracelets, called “Color-FULL,” come in all sorts of colors and feature a golden “cover,” so it shouldn’t be hard to find the one you like. There is also a white crayon bracelet that features a gray cover.

However, these Crayola crayon bracelets and rings are not cheap. Being sold through British online marketplace DSML E-SHOP, the price of bracelets ranges from £18,100 ($23,130) to £18,950 ($24,210), while the rings are priced at £6,400 ($8,178).
This isn’t the first time Ghosn has reached out to art supplies for inspiration. Previously, the jewelry designer presented bracelets inspired by regular pencils and iconic BIC pens.

]]>Constable built a fence and then hired his neighbor, artist Hanif Wondir, to paint a mural over it. The mural shows what’s hidden behind the fence to the slightest detail.
“After reluctantly building the fence and driveway, he presented a sassy idea to me that would require my artistic skills,” Wondir wrote in a caption of a painted fence posted on Instagram. “A painting of a boat in a driveway next to a house on a fence in front of a boat in a driveway next to a house!”
According to USA Today, the city officials were not agitated by Constable’s creative approach and instead praised the homeowner for a solution that “not only addresses compliance but also showcases a community-driven solution.”
Wondir’s mural ended up generating a lot of attention from passersby while also becoming viral on social media and generating headlines in media outlets.
The artist later shared a timelapse video showing the mural being made.

]]>A dad from London, UK, named Tom Curtis, is so proud of his children’s drawings that he decided to share them with the world, but not before adding an extra touch. Curtis takes the drawings and turns them into realistic images using Photoshop.
The collaboration between Curtis and his kids—Alistair and Dom—has been amazing internet users for years now with their Instagram page, Things I Have Drawn, amassing 955K followers. Curtis also gives realistic treatment to drawings submitted to him through DMs or charity organizations with which he collaborates.
The realistic drawings shared on Things I Have Drawn usually include animals and fictional characters, but even if they focus on the same subject, they are never the same.
“The best drawings tend to come from kids between the ages of 5 and 8. It’s when their drawings have clear form but still have a lovely naivety that’s understandably lost as they get older, “Curtis shared in a recent chat with Bored Panda.

RAH Azul was born in East Los Angeles to Mexican parents, who migrated to the United States from the region of Jalisco. His Mexican heritage and indigenous roots represent a big part of his creative practice, inspiring him to show the beauty of his culture.
The artist often turns to famous Mexicans as subjects, including painter Frida Calho, actress and singer María Félix, and boxing icon Salvador Sanchez. These works are also adorned with symbols and imagery commonly associated with Mexican culture that adorn the background or, in some cases, the subjects themselves.

]]>Inspired by this complexity, Hamlyn creates intriguing artworks that show the practice of pressing flowers in a different light. They feature inflated flowers, hand-sewn out of different materials, being pressed with a see-through acrylic plate.
It is a captivating sight, as the beauty and the liveliness of the flowers still shine through despite the fact that they are being “suffocated” by the weight of the acrylic plate.
“This idea of desperately trying to preserve and celebrate a moment in time is really interesting to me, particularly in our fast-paced world,” Hamlyn shared in a recent interview with Creative Boom. “As with a flower press, we take a memory and press it before it dies. Forcing it to preserve in time. This combination of memory, nostalgia, and time are fundamental concerns throughout this show and my wider work,”
Hamlyn, who received his MA degree in fine art at Chelsea College of Art, currently works out of his studio in South West London, UK. His works have been exhibited in art galleries and museums across the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and more. The character of Hello Kitty was first created in 1974 by Japanese designer Yuko Shimizu. It was first used on vinyl coin purses produced by the company Sanrio and later adorned various other fashion and household items. Over the years, Hello Kitty became a globally recognizable brand and made its way into animated series and films, comics, video games, and various other media.

JPS creates his mini artworks using stencils and spray paint, with each one being the size of a regular lighter. According to the artist, the process is more demanding compared to large-scale art since it requires multiple layers and great precision. However, he still manages to pack a great amount of detail, making each mini-piece a hidden treasure for anyone who accidentally discovers it.

]]>Since the early 2010s, Caillard has been creating impressive marble sculptures that represent an unusual blend of past and present. While the sculptures are made in the Greco-Roman style, they don’t have features that fit the period. Instead, the subjects are donning long beards, sunglasses, and scarves, visually embracing the hipster culture.
The influence of hipster culture on Caillard’s works is visible in his several projects, including Hipster in Stone and Hipster Sculptures. The former included dressing the sculptures, including works of classical artists, into fashionable clothes. The latter sees Caillard creating busts in bronze that capture the hipster look in the most unusual ways.
“In order to imagine a new society, richer in meaning and beauty, it is essential to look to our Greco-Roman roots for new inspiration,” Caillard explains.
Caillard had solo exhibits across France while also being part of group exhibits in museums in Belgium, Switzerland, and the United States. He also frequently shares his newest creations on Instagram. Check out more of them below.
