Lauren Reed is a British artist and embroidery enthusiast who specializes in creating embroidery pet portraits. Her works are not only adorable but incredibly realistic despite the fact they are made using just threads and needles.
According to Reed, she started getting interested in embroidery after taking a Textile Art course in school. She picked up some basic techniques but opted not to pursue it further as she was more interested in drawing and painting. It was only after she finished university that she found a way back to embroidery.
After picking up needles and threads once again, Reed discovered it to be a therapeutic practice and started practicing it more frequently. Then in 2018, she created an embroidery pet portrait as a Christmas gift for a friend and realized that she has a real knack for this type of art. It wasn’t long before she decided to pursue embroidery as a full-time career, creating a successful business that helps people all around the world to express love for their pets in a unique way.
Reed is also attempting to get more people involved in embroidery, believing everyone can do it with some work and patience.
“I truly believe that everybody has the ability to create something amazing with a little patience, and I want more people to believe that too,” says Reed on her official website.
