]]>Ito is the owner of a store in Tosu, Japan, which specializes in watches and eyewear. After he finishes working with clients and repairing watches, Ito proceeds to focus on his hobby: making metal animal sculptures.
In his line of business, Ito often ends up with all sorts of spare parts that are headed to the trash can. So figuring there must be a way to still make them useful, this talented watchmaker started combining them to craft figurines of insects, reptiles, dogs, cats, and all sorts of other animals.
Being accustomed to working with small pieces, Ito has no trouble recreating the animals with extreme accuracy. Sometimes this requires using hundred individual pieces, but the effort surely pays off when you look at the finished product.
At first, Ito only displayed the sculptures in his shop as decoration and a way to intrigue the customers. However, after receiving countless positive reactions, he is now sharing his works on Instagram, allowing the internet to enjoy these impressive creations. Check out more of them below.

]]>Their mother Bonnie deserves all the credit for Tonka and Monroe’s success because she was the one who started making creative videos of her pets. The first thing she videotaped was Tonka sitting on a big round swing and her granddaughter swinging him.
Bonnie’s mission is to create videos that will make people laugh and it seems that she’s doing a pretty going job with the help of her lovely companions. In an interview with Hello Bark, Bonnie said that she’s met a lot of people and has built strong connections thanks to their YouTube channel. Many of those people confessed that Tonka and Monroe’s videos have helped them through really hard times.
What are the Malamutes’ personalities like, you wonder?
“Their personalities are completely different! Monroe is calm and quiet while Tonka is impatient and argumentative. They are both more like people than dogs. I believe it’s because I treat them like people and I expect more from them and they never let me down. They are both extremely intelligent,” Bonnie said in this interview.

]]>Apart from textiles, her illustrations can be found on products like enamel pins, notebooks, coloring books, notepads, and greeting cards, with her clients including brands like Papyrus, Little Blue Nest, Craft Consortium, Lilipinso, and Lake Coloring.
“Most of my work is drawn by hand the old-school way, and painted patiently with watercolors and gouache,” she shared with Society6’s blog. “First layers are quite relaxed, but at the end I somehow find the patience to make all the tiny details and make my characters come to life. I do all the repeat patterns digitally in Photoshop or Illustrator.”
According to Stajner, her inspiration comes from the world around her. “While I work, I love to stylize them, make them more simple and less realistic,” she notes. “But then I want to add so many details that they appear alive again. Like they actually exist somewhere in the world. Oh, what a happy place that would be.”

]]>“I have always been drawing and ‘creating’ things and never really wanted to do anything else,” said Wiehle in and interview with Lake. “I think I would be completely terrible at an office job.” On top of her work as a freelance illustrator, and having written 10 books so far, Wiehle is also a founding member of Paper Ghost Studio, a small illustration studio and gallery space in Candler Park, Atlanta, where she has been organizing art shows for the last two years.
Based in Atlanta, GA, she admits to drawing inspiration from her childhood in Germany, where she was raised in an old farmhouse in a tiny village. Being surrounded by sheep, horses, and chickens, it comes as no surprise that animals, in all shapes and forms, make a constant appearance throughout her work.
“I still travel back to Germany as much as I can,” says Wiehle, “so I can spend time with my family and friends and get my fill of the German breakfast and riding the train around Europe.” Her illustrations might provide you with more insight into her favorite environments.

]]>Ilo The Havanese is one these charming pooches and he’s going to melt your heart for sure. Ilo’s owner says his pet is a very friendly and loyal companion who follows him around wherever he goes. “In Finnish, we have this word ”butt fly” which describes Havanese well. They are where you are, always,” the owner said.
Because of their small size, this dog breed is perfect for people who live in small apartments and they don’t need a lot of exercise. But in spite of that, Ilo loves spending time outside and playing in the park with other dogs.
“Ilo is really social and friendly dog. He loves other dogs (especially girls) and people too! He gets super excited pretty much about everything and he could eat endlessly, so he is easily motivated with food,” Ilo’s owner described his pet’s personality in an interview with Hello Bark.

]]>His illustrations have a tongue-in-cheek quality to them, that’s partly due to their exaggerated features – features like big eyes and extra sharp teeth. As such, his animals would make great cartoon characters. They also make great prints, which Tonks sells on his Etsy store.
According to Tonks, his work process includes a lot of sketching beforehand. His sketches are smaller than the final pieces, allowing him some freedom to work out a composition, shape, proportions, silhouette, and everything else that goes into character illustration.
He then works digitally, using ProCreate, to create his final piece, adding texture and color. Understanding the animals’ anatomy is also important— a practice he learned through animal observations, as well as studying other illustrators.
Below you’ll find some of his delightful pieces.

]]>Katee Lauchner, Coco’s owner, says that her daughter taught Coco the ‘Paws Up’ trick. The cute Maltese was easy to train and now she simply can’t stop showing what she’s learned.
“My daughter taught her using the back of the couch for support and taking a treat above her head to get her to move upward. Over the years, Coco has turned it into her own thing by standing up and putting her paws up, and now she does it all the time even without us asking,” Katee said in an interview with Bored Panda.
Even if they wanted to stop Coco from doing this, they couldn’t, so they find it pretty hilarious. Coco has a sister called Cici, who is also a Maltese dog, and they’re both registered therapy dogs working at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

“Recently @jasperdoest released a series of photographic journal on @natgeo on Bob: a Caribbean flamingo who became an ambassador for the Fundashon Dier en Onderwijs Cariben(FDOC) after he was disabilited when he flew into a hotel window,” he wrote. His floral flamingo is his way to honor Bob.

]]>Their funny comics feature hilarious scenes from the life of sharks, but they’re also based on real facts.
“Mostly our comic is about the minutiae of everyday life, relationships, and emotions. We thought it would be funny to put those things into the mouths of fish that are perceived to be cold-hearted killers,” Talbot told Bored Panda.
The ideas for these comics come from everywhere— the Internet, news, or random situations that come to their mind in the most unexpected moments. Christian’s job is to do all the research and Sophie then illustrates those ideas on paper.
“The more I learn about Sharks, the weirder, and more appealing, we find them. A lot of marine biologists follow us now, and they appreciate the niche jokes about plankton,” Talbot added.
